Christmas Carols at CBC

Normally over December, I am not around to experience Christmas Carols at Christ Baptist Church! Because of my new part time job, I am still here in Polokwane! I stayed with Shirley and Seth for a week and the last ten days with Chris & Bev. I leave for home on Thursday!
I have really missed my visit with Glen & Antje this year! So far, I am enjoying my holiday job and am praying that new doors
will open as a result of this!
This last Sunday, I experienced my first Christmas Carol Service at CBC in the 12 years that I have been part of the church and really enjoyed it!
Rob and his worship team led us!
I know this is not a good shot but I think it is rather effective, considering the occasion!
All the children were called up to the front with their candles and they sang a carol for us. Was very sweet!

Tigers in Africa! Seriaas!!!

With a little help from Kea, Liz managed to organise a surprise visit for the two of us to the Ranch were they now have five 1 month old tigers & one white lion cub
I was last here to see lion cubs a few years ago with Brendon & Belinda!
This same lion had very quietly made his way right up to the fence where I was standing. We were amazed by how he seemed to have picked out the weakest of the group of visitors!
However on this visit, he was too occupied with his rack of horse ribs to show any interest in me!
We loved watching these two cheetah cubs playing soccer, though we were not able to go in and handle them!
Playing just like kittens!

On our game drive we actually watched a lioness climb this tree, it was quite amazing!
Perfect Christmas tree Decoration!!!
About to leave for the game drive and very excited about being with the cubs...

Not many can say that they have been chewed by a tiger and lived to tell the tale!!!
In my Element

Covered in Tiger!

There were two white little ones

Liz and I had a BALL
Thank you SO VERY much Liz, what a DREAM come true!
You are an amazing friend!!!

Shirley's 50th Birthday Party

Although it is Shirley's birthday today, we had her celebration tea on the 4th of Dec before people started leaving for their holidays.
When I asked Seth to take some photo's for me, he asked me if he had to "shake alot" or switch the "shake" off. What a good laugh! I then made him take a snap of himself!

We had the tea at the Farmyard!

Sheri is getting married on the 8th of January! Her fiancè is a really nice guy!

A good time was had by all!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIRLEY!

Ladies Morning Out

This last Saturday was a full & exciting day for me! Firstly, I went to Hayley for a haircut and from there, Wendy, Leighton and Shannon picked me up and we went and enjoyed breakfast together at the Pavilion!

After breakfast, the four of us went shopping at Savannah. Though, for some strange reason poor Leighton and Shannon had a rough time with the guards concerning obtaining a wheelchair!

My Very own Christmas Tree

Sadly, Michelle and Lourens left for Pretoria last week and will be immigrating to Canada early next next year. They stayed in Malcolm and Jacqui's house, which is not far from the school! Last Wednesday afternoon, I went to visit Michelle in my electric chair and spent the afternoon with her.
I sat with her while she sorted though some stuff! I happily ended up relieving her of their Christmas tree!

I was so excited about the tree that Michelle went out that very afternoon and bought me some lights and beautiful decorations! I had
such fun decorating the tree!

Thank you so much Michelle and Lourens! I will think of you guys every time I enjoy the tree!

A Very Patient Tigger

Little Anica, Marius and Astrella came to visit the other week!
Anica had a ball with Tigs and I was amazed at how his just patiently lay there and let her play with him

Eyeballing each other!

"You WILL come with me, pussy"

The Craziness Begins

My stock for next year has started arriving.
We get our uniforms from Lombards Tzaneen but they are manufactured in Capetown. So instead of these boxes being delivered to Tzaneen and transported back up to Polokwane, it is delivered directly to Northern Academy. Our Lombards supplier sends two guys through to Polokwane and the three of us check the boxes together, saving on time and transport costs.
On this day we checked 70 boxes of clothing. We are expecting about another 40 boxes of clothes to arrive.

In the meantime my stationery is arriving by the ton.

David & Vonè's Wedding

After spending a lovely day at the lodge, all the guests gathered under the beautiful big fig tree were the ceremony took place!

Very unique pulpit from which Nicki preached a fabulous message!
Kea did Vonè & her bridesmaids makeup

David nervously waiting for his bride...

Beautiful Vonè with her dad. David's mom made her dress as well as the bridesmaids dresses

Vonè's lovely bridesmaids

"Is there still time to run?"

How wonderful to know that a marriage does not only involve two people but it includes God who is not only part of it but is the Head of it!

May the Lord bless this union & use it for His ultimate glory!

Married at last!!!
After performing the ceremony, Nicki took on the role as photographer.

David & Vonè each made their own rings, very special!

What can I say? "Only one pretty face in this one":)
The venue was beautifully decorated

The table decorations were very unusual

These two faces just complete the picture...

Privileged to have a photo taken with the bride and her groom!

I shamelessly took to the dance floor in my electric wheelchair and had a ball but thankfully (as far as I know) there are no photos to prove my reckless behaviour.

I even "stood" in line with all the other single ladies to try and catch the bride's bouquet. Though, ofcourse I missed. However the lady who did catch it very kindly gave it to me!
